The price of a packet is determined by the cost of the royalties
(if applicable), production costs, desk copy quantity, margin
to cover operating expenses,
and labor.
Royalties
Publishers usually charge royalties to reprint their material.
The average cost is approximately $.10 per page, per copy,
but can often be much higher. These fees are set by the copyright
holder and we will negotiate costly charges in an effort to
lower the fee. In the case that the fee is unusually high
and cannot be negotiated, we will contact you.
Desk Copies
Desk copies costs are absorbed into the overall student copy
price. We highly recommend that you carefully consider the
number of desk copies you will
actually need as these fees may significantly increase the
packet cost
especially in small class enrollments.
If you are concerned about the overall cost of the packet,
an estimate
of the final cost is available upon request.
